Navigating Challenging Times

Navigating Challenging Times
2024 is a weird year, isn’t it? In some ways, we are finally back to “normal” after the roller coaster of the past five years, but in other ways things are as bizarre as ever. I know we are all praying for our friends who were hard-hit by the recent hurricanes, especially in Florida and South Carolina. We had concerns in my area of South Georgia as Helene came through, but a last-minute shift to the East helped my city escape the worst damage. Gratefully we know that God is not surprised or overwhelmed by anything happening in our world. What overwhelms us underwhelms our Lord.
From talking to a number of churches, it seems the economy is an ongoing concern. Between cultural shifts, political tensions, storm recovery, and decreases in giving, finances are a real consideration in church planning. We are called to walk in faith, but we are also called to be wise stewards. I’m praying for your church as you figure out the best ways to prioritize. The reality is, investing in a special program isn’t always good stewardship, and times like these can make a shift in focus necessary. Be sure your kids and families are first in your church’s priority list! Find quality ministers and volunteers to disciple the next generation day in and day out. I believe creativity is a must for meaningful ministry, but I guarantee you’ve got incredible potential and untapped resources withing your community to develop ministries creatively even when it isn’t practical to bring someone from the outside.
Routed Opportunities
Inflatable Stories will be in Nebraska October 27th and Oklahoma October 30th, with a flight out from Dallas November 2nd. Is this the perfect opportunity for a last-minute routed fall event upgrade for your church?
If your church is in a place to bring guests from a different area of the country, I am excited to partner with you. In the meantime, I’ve been putting deep thought and prayer into how I can create more meaningful opportunities in my own area of Thomas County in Georgia and the surrounding counties. Let’s find inventive ways to work together and engage families with the Gospel! Please feel free to contact me and we can brainstorm together.
If you happen to be somewhere between Nebraska and Dallas, I’ve decided it makes more sense to stay on the road rather than coming home between my bookings in Scottsbluff, NE (October 27) and Owasso, OK (October 30). If we can time it right, I would love to join your church family for a routed date while I’m out. I’m likely to linger somewhere in the DFW area on October 31st, and I would love for us to do whatever it takes to make that evening an opportunity to share with your church family instead of sitting idle.
Christmas Ornaments!
I’m putting together Inflatable Stories Christmas ornaments just for you! As long as they last, all you need to do is e-mail me at [email protected] and tell me where to send it.
On a fun side note, I’m going to be making some customized Inflatable Stories Christmas ornaments, and I would love to share them with you! If you would like one for yourself or your church, please email me using [email protected] with your address and I’ll be happy to send you one until my supply runs out. I still have open dates for my Christmas Nativity program, so please let me know if you would like to bring the Inflatable Live Nativity to your families.
In Christ,
Dan
