The Easter season is typically one of my most hectic, and this year raised that to a whole new level. Even the weeks leading up to resurrection Sunday were busy as I shared in NC and OK. My time at Capitol Hill Assembly took large balloon builds to a whole new level as I worked with a team of volunteers to build an incredible Jerusalem themed décor setup for the room. Our crew began around 10:00 AM, and we had over 25 volunteers through the day before we wrapped up around 7:30 PM having built an enormous setup. I think my favorite part was hearing the volunteers enthusiastically pointing out what they had helped with the next day when they arrived for the programs. It’s truly amazing what we can do together!

Our Incredible Team of Volunteers in Oklahoma City built a massive and captivating Easter Scene in only one day.

Easter weekend I was excited to share 7 Easter programs at two different churches in Georgia. With a new balloon wall illustration I’ve added to the program, the logistics were wild, and I ended up hauling a trailer all over Georgia to make it possible to share the “God’s Truth Holds Up” program. My poor, old Honda Pilot gave everything it had to pull the trailer hundreds of miles, getting me to Toccoa, Augusta, and almost back home before it gave out. I don’t know whether it will be practical to replace the transmission, but after 370,000 miles, I can’t be too disappointed in my car. Most importantly, the programs went really well and made all the effort worthwhile!

While Easter has passed, the Easter rush is still going. I love the thoughtfulness leaders put into ensuring a special event is part of something bigger. Following Easter Sunday, I visited Bethel Church in Sanger, CA as they helped Easter visitors transition into regular attendees and faithful disciples of Christ. I hope when churches bring me in it will always be part of a bigger plan because the most important ministry in your church is what happens each day, week, and year through the investment of leaders like you.
