October has been such a blast!  It’s a season full of Fall Festivals and special events. It’s also the perfect season for balloons! October has held some exciting opportunities for Inflatable Stories. Early in the month, I carried balloons out to San Angelo, TX for a five-day revival event. That wasn’t the only extended event, though. Last week, I traveled a completely different direction to Des Moines, IA for the Great Pumpkin Party at Valley Church. Both events were amazing!

The Pumpkin Party is fresh on my mind. This is a three-day event that touches a huge part of Valley Church’s community. I was particularly fond of the first night because it was dedicated to people with special needs. Such a precious group! The other two nights were open to the rest of the community. I don’t know how many people came, but I know both of the church buildings were packed! Through the three nights, I did eight programs to help ensure the kids got more than candy out of their visit.

Aside from the eight programs, I did a few elaborate costumes and an entranceway arch to help draw people in to the main event. We had students walking around in a full-body hippo costume, a giant fish, and as an amazing, bulky, superhero. Outside the door, we had a pumpkin-themed arch to help people spot the place where the action was happening. When the church told the local news station about all the exciting things we were doing, they wanted to interview me on a live morning show!  I had the opportunity to share Inflatable Stories for almost ten minutes on the local news and invite people to the event.

As a fun aside, if you follow my social media, you might have noticed the Inflatable Finds I have been posting. Here’s how it works, as I travel I sometimes come across an interesting scene. When I do, I hide a balloon somewhere in the picture. You can see all the past Inflatable Finds on the Inflatable Stories Facebook group, and you can see the newest pictures on Instagram. Pro Tip: The Facebook group also has an Inflatable Finds answer key. I mention all this, because my favorite Inflatable Finds photo so far happened in Des Moines. The local monument park had a huge statue made of letters, and I hid a balloon somewhere among those letters. Can you spot it?

Can you spot the balloon?

Thanks for keeping up with all God is doing with Inflatable Stories! As we enter the month of November, I’d love for you to e-mail me and tell me something you’re thankful for. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
